Happy birthday Helene Costello (June 21, 1906 - January 26, 1957)

Helene Costello, along with her older sister Dolores Costello, began as child actors in the 1910s and went on to greater fame in the 1920s. Although Helene never became quite as successful as her sister, she worked steadily throughout the ’20s and was chosen as a WAMPAS Baby Star in 1927. In 1928, she appeared in Lights of New York, the first feature-length 100% talking film (tagline: “It’s Hear!”). However, her career began to fade with the coming of sound, and by the late 1930s she was reportedly working as a script reader for Fox. She died in 1957 of pneumonia.
